Post #7 – Agent Mode Explained

by Tom McAtee | 4 Aug 2025 | AI in Practice

Smarter workflows, made possible.

Agent Mode is a new way of working inside ChatGPT. It’s not just “chat” — it’s structured, task-based collaboration.

Here’s the difference:

    • Normal Chat: One-off Q&A. You type → ChatGPT replies.

    • Projects: A workspace to organise chats by theme or task.

    • Agents: Assignable tools that take action on your behalf.

Think of Agents as mini AIs with a job to do — like a researcher, editor, or planner.

You can now create an Agent with:

    • A custom name

    • A unique personality or voice

    • Special instructions (what to do, what not to do)

Agents are still evolving, but they signal a shift: from answers to assistance.

These days, I’m diving deep into research, building tools for thinking, and sharing personal reflections along the way. I also happen to love golf, music, cycling, travel, food – and building elegant things with Divi.
