Struggling to get better answers from AI? Use this five-part structure.
When people say, “ChatGPT gave me a bad answer,” the real issue is usually the prompt.
Better prompts = better responses. But what makes a good prompt?
Try the CRAFT model:
-
-
C – Context: Set the scene.
“I’m a team leader preparing a difficult conversation.” -
R – Role: Tell ChatGPT who to be.
“Act as a leadership coach.” -
A – Ask: Say exactly what you want.
“Give me three opening lines to begin the conversation respectfully.” -
F – Format: Set the shape of the output.
“Respond in dot points.” -
T – Target audience: Who is this for?
“This is for a mid-level manager with some experience but low confidence.”
-
Put it all together and your prompt becomes clearer, faster, and more useful.
